| My totally un-normal life: chapter 22 part 2Wed, 07 Jan 2009 13:53:24 -0800 by jonastwin92Miley entered my room and smiled, "Knock, knock. anybody home?" I got up from the bed and hugged her. "Hey! How have you been?" She sadly smiled, "Eh, so-so." She sat on the bed and sighed. I sat by her, "Who let you in?" She smiled, "Who do you think?" I grinned, "Matt?" She shook her head, "No, Kerry." "Oh." I said. "Did you get to meet her?" She nodded, "She's cool." I quietly screamed then squeezed her hand, "Isn't it awesome? I mean living with Kerry Russell?" "Eh," she said matter-of-factly, "It's no biggie." She looked down at the floor. Normally I would have commented back, but something told me that Miley was uncomfortable about something. "Miles?" I nudged her with my elbow, "what's wrong?" She shook her head and looked away. I sighed, "Come on, Miles. I'm your best friend. You can tell me anything." She still wouldn't answer me. "Well, if you don't want to tell me what's up, then I'll keep bothering you. What's up, Miles? Huh? Huh? Hu.." "Okay!!" she snapped, "I'll tell you what's up!" I grinned, "the sky?" she rolled her eyes then laughed, "No, that's not what i meant. I mean.." she sighed again, "Lizzie, there's something i need to tell you. It's serious." I stopped laughing and sat straight. "Miley, what's wrong?" She gave me one look then burst out crying, "It's me. I've been such a terrible friend to you." she put her face in her hands and sobs escaped from her mouth. I gently placed my arm on her shoulder, "No you haven't, Miles. You are the best friend anyone could want." She shook her head, "You're just saying that." i sighed, "Miles, why don't you tell me what's wrong?" She sat up, masara falling down her face, "Okay. But you have to promise to let me go out the door once I've told you. No questions." i nodded. Miley can be a drama queen, so i just expected something minor. Probably something like,'i scratched my mom's car' or 'Daddy won't let me date Justin tonight' something like that. She took a deep breath, "I'm dating Nick. And we're not virgins anymore." she walked out the door and left me open mouthed. Once i heard the front door close, my body began to shake. How could this have happened? how could this be true? I ran to my window just in time to see Miley climb onto a motorcycle behind Nick. He turned around and spoke to her, and she just nodded and wiped the mascara off her face. he leaned back and kissed her, then they were both off. I sat on my bed dumbfounded. This couldn't be true. The front door slammed and I heard footsteps running up the stairs. The door to my room flew open and Matt ran over to me and gave me a huge hug. I cried a little harder and tried to push him away, "Matt, not now. I.." he placed a finger over my lips, "I already know. I'm sorry." I shook my head, "How could he do that? And with my best friend?" he shrugged, "Sometimes people do things just to hurt others. Or they do it to get back at others." I closed my eyes and shook my head again, "I don't get it." He nodded, "i know what you mean, babe. I don't get Nick or Miley at all. I know she can be crazy and so can he, but they sometimes go a little to the extreme, ya know?" I nodded, "I know. He use to.." I closed my mouth and didn't say anything. I didn't want to think about what he use to do when we were 'in love'. Ha! what a joke. "I know he use to pressure you into, well you know. Joe told me a little about that." I looked up at Matt and he looked down at me. "It's going to be okay." he kissed the top of my head. I'll probably move in with Matt's sister as soon as she comes back from London." She nodded, "No problem." She looked at Matt for the milionth time, "Is he safe?" I rolled my eyes and laughed, "He's not the 9th grade pervert you remember." She laughed nervously, "YEah. What ev. I'm going to get something to drink. You guys want anything?" I shook my head, "Nah. You Matt?" He shook his head, "Nope. I'm good." he sat at the edge of her bed. Miles shrugged, "Okie dokie. Brb" she walked out the door and closed it. After a few seconds, Matt looked up at me and smiled, "Come here." he patted the bed, "Sit down." i sat by him, and he slipped his hand into mine, "I really do love you, Liz." I smiled and kissed him softly, "i love you too, Matt." We exchanged more kisses, then he closed his eyes and lay on my shoulder, "Do you like chocolate?" I laughed, "Wow. That was random." He grinned and sat up, his hair slightly messy, "Well, i like chocolate, so i'm going to go get some. You want some?" I shook my head, "No. But i want you to.." "I want you too, baby" he interrupted and kissed me on the lips. I giggled, "That's not what i meant." he grinned, "I know. Do you want me to get your 'comfort object'?" I looked at him confused, "My what?" "YOu know," he nudged me, "Your stuffed kitty cat, Bootsie?" I blushed, "how do you know about my Bootsie?" He laughed, "I have my sources. Sure i'll get your stuffed animal. Anything else?" I nodded, "Yeah. Don't forget your Elmo." His eyes flew open, "I told you about my Elmo toy?" I winked, "I have my sources." We giggled, and he kissed me. "Okay. I'll be back in a bit. I want to talk to the Jo Bros for a bit." I stood up, "Why?" He looked me in the eyes, "I want everything to be right between us. No cheap relationships for me. If we're dating, then it's going to be done right." I began to cry. He hugged me and pulled me close to him. "What's wrong?" He grinned sheepishly, "Well, you never know...Babe." I looked up and he burst out laughing, "I'm sorry. I couldn't resist." i laughed too, then opened the door to my house. Joe jumped off the couch and ran to the door, "Babe! I was just about to..." He stopped as he stared at Matt, closing the door behind us. "Uh, who's this?" I came up to Joe and hugged him, "This is Matt. Matt this is Joe." Joe looked at me, and a huge smile spread accross his face, "You said 'Joe'!" I looked up at Matt and he just shrugged, "Yyyeah. That's your name." Joe clapped his hands and hugged me, "Yeah! You said 'Joe' instead of 'Joe-Joe'! I'm so happy!" I grinned, "Yeah, well. You know, my name's Elizabeth". Joe's face lit up, "This is great! I can't wait to tell...Nick" His smile dropped, as his gaze fell on the open door. I turned around and saw Nick, standing with his car keys in one hand, and his other hand was on the doorknob. His eyes looked tired, and his gaze fell lovingly on me. He walked over and gave me a hug. Uncomfortabley, i looked at Matt and he looked just as surprised as I did. I pushed Nick away and smiled, "Hello, Nick." Nick smiled, "Hey, Elizabeth. I see you've.. gotten better." I nodded. "Well don't mind me. I'm going to get some things and i'll be out of here." He grabbed my arm, "Where are you going?" Matt came forward and placed a hand on Nick's shoulder, "She's staying at Miley's for a while." He looked up at Matt, "Hey man! How's it going?" They shook hands. "Thank's for bringing my girlfriend." I pulled away from Nick, "That's what I came to tell you." He looked at me closely, "What?" I took a breath, "Nick. I wanted to tell you that what you said earlier this week really hurt me." he still didn't understand, "our conversation before I ran out of here?" Regret filled his face, "Listen I.." "No you listen." i said gently, but firmly, "our being together was a mistake. It never should have happened. I caused you so many problems, but I realize that we can fix this." He grinned, "So you'll give me another chance?" I nodded, "Yes, another chance to be my friend." His smile faded, "Your friend? Nothing more?" I nodded, "Nothing more. I'm sorry Nick. It's over." Reluctantly, he reached for his keys, "Guess we better take you back." I shook my head, "Not yet." I placed my coffee on the hood of his car, "I don't want to go back yet." He placed his coffee beside mine, then looked at me, "You don't?" I wrapped my arms around him, as he slowly leaned down, "Not yet." I stood on my tip toes and gently kissed him on the lips. Surprised at my own forwardness, i broke the kiss a few seconds later. I blushed, "I-I'm sorry, Matt. I didn't mean to..." He lifted my chin with his hand ever so gently, "Don't be." I gazed up into his dark-blue eyes. He slowly leaned down and placed his lips against mine. He deepened the kiss, and I let him. I wanted him so badly. I needed him to hold me and...and to..to love me. After a few minutes of our deep kiss, we gently moved apart, and I smiled. "Matt?" He smiled nervously, 'Y-Yeah?" I hugged him and lay my head on his chest, "Thank-you." he placed his chin on top of my head, then kissed the top of my head, "No. Thank-YOU." I giggled and he gently squeezed me. I looked up and kissed him again. I reached for my drink, "Now I'm ready to go home." His smile fell, "You're going back?" i giggled, "of course. It's my home." He shook his head as we drove out onto the street, "No, I mean back to him." I sighed, "Matt?" He groaned, then banged the steering-wheel, "i knew it! I knew it was too good to be true!" I grabbed his hand (luckily, we were at a stoplight), "Matt! I wanted to tell you that I hoped... that, well," I sighed and then laughed, "I was hoping that you could take me out sometime." He looked at me then spoke, un-believingly, "You mean to ask you out on a date?" I blushed, "Well, not if you don't..." "HELL YEAH, BABY! WHOO!"
