Maybe something there would tell me if what Demi said was true or what Nick said was true. I walked down to his house. It would be my first time. Nick didn't want me meeting his family or anything. I didn't know why. But he can't stop me now. I rang the doorbell. The lady who opened the door, had Nick's curly hair and his head. They looked so much alike. I smiled at her. She smiled at me. "Selena...," she said. How did she know my name? This was the first time we met. "Um...?" I said. "Oh, don't be alarmed. I saw your pictures in Nick's room," she said. Nick had pictures of me in his room? Wow. I never knew that. "Nice to meet you," I said to her. "I'm Nick's mom. And it's nice to meet you too," she said shaking my hand. She let me in and led me to the kitchen. "Would you like anything to eat?" "Um...no thank you," I said. "How are you, dear? I'm so upset, Nick never let me meet you," she said. "I'm fine. And yes...it is pretty bad. But we meet now," I said. "Yes," she said grinning. "Do you mind me going to Nick's room? I think he took a book of mine...which I needed to read," I said to her. "No. You don't even have to ask. Go," she said. I made my way through the rooms and knew I was in Nick's when I saw the multiple pictures of me. Pictures with him and pictures alone. And even pictures I never knew were taken. I smiled and walked around. His room was all black with one single white light on the ceiling above. I decided I should look around for some clue now. I went over to a side dresser and opened the door. Nothing but boxers. Next drawer. I gasped. There was pot and cigarettes. Nick...lied to me? "Selena?" Nick asked breathless at the door. I mean people actually asked him. His show is a comedy and it's for fun. His sexuality has nothing to do with it. Nonetheless, I love gay people. Really fast. Too bad I can't. I looked at Demi really angry. Nick would never lie to me. He's Nick. We promised each other honesty. "What are you talking about?" I asked Demi. "Nick is staying sober. He has been for like over a week." "Joe told me he came home drunk," she said. "JOE LIED!" I yelled. People turned to look and Demi gave me a look. "Why would Joe lie about something like that?" she asked. "He has no reason to. Maybe Nick was lying to you." "And why would Nick lie to me?" I asked Demi. "He would never do that." Demi shrugged and walked away. I felt bad for yelling at her. But I didn't want to think Nick lied to me. Never. I didn't know who to believe. Demi had a point. Why would Joe lie? And Nick has been acting fishy for the past few days. He didn't show up because of a family thing...I didn't know what to believe. I was barely paying attention to anything that day. My thoughts were filled with Nick. He noticed it. "Anything wrong?" he asked me. "No," I said. He didn't look satisfied with my answer. But didn't bug me any longer. "I'll be by your house today. I've to go somewhere with Kevin and Joe," he said. "Where are you going?" I asked him. "Just...places. I'll meet you later," he said kissing me before leaving. I knew I had to do something. Anything.
