This is fine and dandy but the problem here is that we are dealing with metaphysics. The first principle of metaphysics is that being does not come from nonbeing. Furthermore we should say that spatiotemporal existence has a cause because everything we see begin to exist has a cause for its beginning to exist. Some Atheists like to say that because we've never seen anything come into existence ex nihilo, that the first premise of the Kalam argument is baseless. The problem here is that the atheist is assuming that the only way to describe the ontology of something is to describe its substance. The problem here is that the atheist is assuming naturalism, which is a positive claim. Furthremore, the ontology of an object can be measured by its properties. Since some objects, like people, buildings, or computer mice, have essential properties which did not exist, like personhood, height, or plasticity, then it logically follows that these objects began to exist. Since this is a metaphysical contention, it is a necessary truth. Since it is a necessary truth, it follows that the universe MUST have a cause for it began to exist. Hence, the Kalam argument is vindicated2: FranzDuckVideos gives his reason for not being more open to the possibility of a supernatural explanation for the data surrounding Christian origins. The problem here is that FranzDuckVideos is, once again, asserting Naturalism. Naturalism is not a mere lack of belief in a supernatural, but is rather a positive claim that reality is exhausted by spatiotemporal existence. Being a positive claim, it requires positive evidence. Since there is none, Franz's naturalism is unwarranted3: Finally FranzDuckVideos discusses pagan parallels. The problem with this theory is that this theory was at one time very popular among scholars of the field, but really collapsed since the 1930s. Since the 1950s you really will not find a single article in any major academic journal espousing this thesis. The reasons for this are threefold1: The parallels are spurious. There is no evidence for these parallels between Christianity and pre-christian pagan religions. Scholars have tried to salvage this thesis by saying that the post-christian evidence is evidence for the conditions of the pre-christian religion. The problem here is that mystery religions, not being interested in any sort of doctrine or dogma, changed radically throughout the centuries2: There is no evidence for a borrowing relationship. This is significant because many of the supposed pagan elements in the New Testament are much more easily explained by a Jewish origin. This caused many scholars to drop their thesis that Christianity should be compared to a pagan backdrop and caused them to instead accept that The New Testament should be compared to a Jewish backdrop. This movement in New Testament scholarship is known as "The Jewish Reclaimation of Jesus" 3: The methodology of the creation of these parallels was methodologically and foundationally flawed. First off, it was the scholars themselves who decided which elements were important and which elements were merely incidental. Through this, scholars were able to point out and grossly and criminally excaggerate minute details and simply brush aside the differences between the New Testament and the older pagan religions. This is fundamentally a circular argument. Furthermore, Historical characters can and often do fall into these fabricated patterns. R.F. Littledale once showed through parallel arguments that Max Mueller, a great Oxford theologian who was an avid proponent of this pagan parallels argument, did not actually exist.
