VIPs Admire Divine Performing Arts in Brooklyn
Wed, 07 Jan 2009 13:49:16 -0800 by NTDTV

WONG: Our reporters caught up with a few VIPs who took in Divine Performing Arts Chinese New Year Splendor in Brooklyn over the weekend. Let's see what they have to say.STORY: Divine Performing Arts Brooklyn shows have left some audience members pondering the inner meaning of traditional Chinese culture.[Qiuyi Guo, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office]:"China has these important cultural traditions, so to be able to have this show that in just one or two hours allows Chinese people to better understand the deep meaning of their own Chinese culture... I think it's a really wonderful show that's definitely worth everyone coming to watch."[Milagros Ricourt, Sociology Professor]:The songs were so deep and so philosophical. For some who saw the show last year, the novelty was still there.[Francis Alessandro, Civil Court Judge]:"Its dynamite and spectacular.Others are taking away the idea that changing your mindset can better your health.[Hugh Maynard-Reid, Healthcare Professional]:They spoke about compassion, forbearance. These are qualities I think are valuable not only for healing, but also for general living.[Eric Adams, State Senator]:"And you can't expect compassion to come to you if you don't extend it to others."NTD, New York.

this is a vegan hardcore/metal band from raleigh NC... they broke up in 2006. taked from their myspace: After playing the final show of our final tour on March 24th of the year 2006 in Charlotte, North Carolina, Undying has decided to part ways. As is always the case, we have our reasons for the break-up, some petty, some great, none of which we will go into here. Suffice to say that for the past eight years we have had the rare opportunity to travel the world, have more than a few interesting experiences, and make friends, too many to be counted here, who we will hold heart-close and dear for a lifetime and more. Our thanks and love truly, to each and every one. And so, we dedicate these past eight years of our lives, all of the songs we have sung, to everyone who is fighting to save a tiny bit of this sad, ravaged world, to anyone, anywhere who longs to dance in the ashes of this last empire that has marched and herded us so close to collapse. In these days, when so much is denied us, in the shadow of a culture built upon ceaseless suffering, on relentless consumption, on the graves of all who oppose it, let us remember, that anything is possible. Long live the poets and the dreamers. Long live the armies of the heart, who so love the world, who have given so much to save her. Long live actions that speak loudly, words that inspire, words that incite, music that's a weapon. Long live. Be kind, live well, go vegan. Transformers - Transformers Theme Song
Wed, 07 Jan 2009 12:59:08 -0800 by cultureclub80

Like the title says,I wanted to download and see what would be the sound of my new movie maker. The sound is better on my new one than on window movie maker. So enjoy this amazing track=).Here's the sixth song of the amazing original motion picture soundtrack of Transformers:The Movie in 1986 produced by Vince DiCola. This song is performed by Lion.«The producers of Transformers The Movie first approached me in early 1986.They were familiar with some of my previous film scores and felt my composing style would be efective for their new Transformers animated film.Up until that point,I had very little knowledge of Transformers, other than being vaguely aware of the toy line.I was honored by their enthusiasm for my music and accepted their offer to score the movie. From the beginning,I found this to be a very challenging project. The first surprise was realizing that about 75 minutes worth of music would be required. This amount of music is not particularly uncommon for a full lenght animated film, but was certainly more than I had ever been asked to produce for one movie.Another surprise nearly threw me into a panic mode.I was told that I would be writing most of the music not to picture,as is usually the case, but to ''Storyboards'',whic h is far from the norm.I traded in my initial shock for more of a can-do attitude and told the director and producers,''Oh sure,no problem at all...I can do that!''Thanks to the help of a great team of people, including fellow producer Ed Frugé,engineer Tony Papa and all the great musicians who played on the soundtrack,I was able to create a score that I continue to be proud of and one that I believe holds up quite well after all these years. One of the more pleasant aspects of this project was the evident trust that the producers and director had in my ability. This allowed me the freedom to write, play and produce music without their constant oversight.I assumed that when the score was finished and the film released,my involvement with Transformers had come to and end. But,a few years later,Iwas approached by Glen Hallit, the executive producer of the Transformers convention known as ''BotCon'',who asked me to appear as a special guest at the convention in Rochester,NY the following year.I had a hard time believing that there was much interest left in Transformers.Just out of curiosity,I accepted the invitation. When I arrived,I was totally amazed that, even years after the movie release,Transformers was still so popular that it attracted thousands of fans to this convention!Glen had another revelation for me.Not only was there a tremendous amount of interest in the Transformers franchise in general, but there was still a huge amount of interest in the 1986 movie, and more specifically,my score!I had never performed for such and enthusiastic audience.Because of that first experience,I have appeared at several more Transformers conventions over the years, but that first one in 1997 really holds a special place in my heart. It is so gratifying to see that my contribution to Transformers The Movie has continued to hold such value for so many fans, for so long.I'm very pleased that SONY BMG MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT has asked me to be involved in this reissue of the original soundtrack.I'm also quite honored that four new pieces of music from my original score are being added as bonus tracks.Special thanks goes to Glen Hallit for years of service to the wonderful legion of Transformers fans and for keeping the culture alive. And a very special personal thanks to all my fans for your continued support and encouragement. This has been quite a ride!»Vince DiCola(April,2007)Ly rics:Something evil's watching over youComin' from the sky aboveAnd there's nothing you can doPrepare to strikeThere'll be no place to runWhen your caught within the gripOf the evil UnicronTransformersM ore than meets the eyeTransformersRobot s in DisguiseStrong enough to break the bravest heartSo we have to pull togetherWe can't stay worlds apartTo stand divided we will surely fallUntil our darkest hourWhen the light will save us allTransformersMore than meets the eyeTransformersRobot s in DisguiseTransformers Autobots wage their BattleTo destroy the evil forcesOf the DecepticonsIt's judgment day and now we've made our standAnd now the powers of darknessHave been driven from our landThe Battle's over but the war has just begunAnd this way it will remain til the day when all are oneTransformersTrans formersTransformersT ransformersMore than meets the eye

Le città nascoste corto/documentario di Emanuele Sciannamea girato in Messico
Wed, 07 Jan 2009 12:50:08 -0800 by teatrozerogrammi

Kennedy Center Honors 2008 Special Live Performances to honoree George Jones
Wed, 07 Jan 2009 11:59:25 -0800 by mybabyjunior19

Special Performances by Brad Paisley, Randy Travis, Alan Jackson & Garth BrooksGeorge Glenn Jones (born September 12, 1931 in Saratoga, Texas), is an award-winning American country music singer known for his long list of hit records, his distinctive voice and phrasing, and his marriage to Tammy Wynette.Over the past twenty years, Jones has frequently been referred to as "the greatest living country singer"[1] The country music scholar Bill C. Malone writes, "For the two or three minutes consumed by a song, Jones immerses himself so completely in its lyrics, and in the mood it conveys, that the listener can scarcely avoid becoming similarly involved."Throughout his long career, Jones made headlines often as much for tales of his drinking, stormy relationships with women, and violent rages as for his prolific career of making records and touring. His wild lifestyle led to Jones missing many performances, earning him the nickname "No Show Jones," but Jones never hid nor denied his faults. With the help of his fourth wife, Nancy, he has been sober for many years. Jones clocked up more than 150 hits during his career, both as a solo artist and in duets with other artists. The Kennedy Center Honors is an annual honor given to those in the performing arts for their lifetime of contributions to American culture. The Honors have been presented annually since 1978 in Washington, D.C., during gala weekend-long events which culminate in a performance for?and honoring?the Honorees at the Kennedy Center Opera House.[1]The Honors were created by George Stevens, Jr. and the late Nick Vanoff; as of 2008, Stevens remains involved as producer and co-writer for the Honors Gala. From 1978 until 2002, the ceremony was hosted by Walter Cronkite;[2] since 2003, it has been hosted by Caroline Kennedy.
