For a country of 7.6 million people this is exceeds the European Union average by 20 percent.According to General Health News, during the summer months, 80 percent of all hospital patients in Bulgaria are crash injuries. Many of those 10,000 injured end up disabled for life.On January 5, 2009 the Interior Ministry press center announced that in the year of 2008, 1059 Bulgarians were killed on the roads in 8031 accidents.The Bulgarian government defrauding people trough the useless Vignette System by collecting charges for use of the unsafe roads. Only in 2008 over 1 500 000 vignettes has been sold. Based on the vehicle the yearly vignette price in Bulgaria varies from 60 BGN to over 1000 BGN (1 Euro is near 2 BGN).
