Deep Purple - Blind
Wed, 07 Jan 2009 16:41:16 -0800 by uast

The awesome song "Blind" from one of the best bands ever - Deep Purple[! I do NOT own this song!]Unfortunately iTunes doesn't offer this song.Official Homepage: http://www.deeppurpl e.com/Lyrics:I see reflections in the waterAutumn colours, summer's daughterAnd as as the year is growing olderI see winter on my shoulderI stand in the hazeWatching stormy ripples grow on my ownNever knew your neededTill I found myself standing here aloneAnd in the water, such a sad faceSlowly drowning, such a sad faceIf only I could change the seasonsLike a poet, I've my reasonsIt started to snow in the middle of JulyWonder whyNever did understand youMy sorrow is hanging in the grey skyIn the summer days we flew to the sunOn melting wingsBut the seasons changed to fastLeave us all behindBlindBut then the stone fell on the waterPutting end to summer's daughterAnd me, I turn away rememberingAll the seasons, such a sad thingIt started to rain in the middle of the sunWinter's begunNever did understand youMy sorrow is hanging in the grey skyIn the summer days we flew to the sunOn melting wingsBut the seasons changed to fastLeave us all behindBlind

DNA examination - Europe Who are we? - This is incredibly !
Wed, 07 Jan 2009 16:24:38 -0800 by bulgad

Who were our ancestors? From where do we originate? Most people can trace their family tree back no further than three or four generations. Thanks to genetic analysis, however, it is possible to look back into millennia long past. The story of our ancestors is probably one of the most exciting of all time. It is the story of mankind. For decades the only evidence available to anthropologists and archaeologists were the small amount of bones and objects left behind by our ancestors. Hence, it was not possible to really prove the various theories of evolution. It is only in the past 20 years that researchers have been able to use the DNA of living people as a means of finding evidence of the migrations of their primeval ancestors. DNA is identical to a degree of 99.9 percent for all people. The remaining 0.1% is the source of individual differences (such as eye colour, certain risks of disease, or deviations with no apparent function). DNA-Genealogy makes it possible for you to research your family tree with the most modern methods. It makes fast and exact research into your family history possible, whether as your first venture into researching your ancestry or as a supplement to traditional genealogy. Where traditional research into your ancestry examines birth, marriage, and death certificates, a simple saliva sample is all that's needed for DNA-Genealogy. That's because each of us carries with us the most important and exact set of files needed: our DNA. What is DNA? DNA is a molecule, that contains the genetic instructions for all of the functions and substances of the human body. It looks like a spiral staircase. Each stair step is made up of two bases. There are four different bases: Guanine, Thymine, Cytosine and Adenine. If you envision the bases as coloured Lego pieces, then there would be four colours and each step would be two-coloured. The total DNA of a human being is called a genome. It contains the genetic instructions for all of the functions and substances of this body. We inherit the genome from our ancestors. It is re-combined in each generation from the genes of our parents, so that genetic traces gradually get lost.

SCIENCE AND ISLAM | The language of science 5/6 ????? ????????
Wed, 07 Jan 2009 15:09:46 -0800 by microman780

A BBC documentary examining the great leap in scientific knowledge that took place in the Islamic world between the 8th and 14th centuries. Isaac Newton is, as most will agree, the greatest physicist of all time.At the very least, he is the undisputed father of modern optics, or so we are told at school where our textbooks abound with his famous experiments with lenses and prisms, his study of the nature of light and its reflection, and the refraction and decomposition of light into the colours of the rainbow.Yet, the truth is rather greyer; and I feel it important to point out that, certainly in the field of optics, Newton himself stood on the shoulders of a giant who lived 700 years earlier. For, without doubt, another great physicist, who is worthy of ranking up alongside Newton, is a scientist born in AD 965 in what is now Iraq who went by the name of al-Hassan Ibn al-Haytham.Most people in the West will never have even heard of him.As a physicist myself, I am quite in awe of this man's contribution to my field, but I was fortunate enough to have recently been given the opportunity to dig a little into his life and work through my recent filming of a three-part BBC Four series on medieval Islamic scientists.Modern methodsPopular accounts of the history of science typically suggest that no major scientific advances took place in between the ancient Greeks and the European Renaissance. But just because Western Europe languished in the Dark Ages, does not mean there was stagnation elsewhere. Indeed, the period between the 9th and 13th Centuries marked the Golden Age of Arabic science.Great advances were made in mathematics, astronomy, medicine, physics, chemistry and philosophy. Among the many geniuses of that period Ibn al-Haytham stands taller than all the others.First shown on BBC4 05/01/2009 Professor Jim Al-Khalili presents Science and Islam

Fort Boyard - Treasure Room.
Wed, 07 Jan 2009 15:04:18 -0800 by FortkingLee

The Treasure room of fort boyard. Its been there since the start. In 2003 they dicided to play across 2 days. Where the treasure room would be on the second day. In 2006 they dicided to make the episode last over a day. Starting with key games in the morning/afternoon. The colour code in the mid afternoon, clue games in the late afternoon (going dark) and then the duels. The Treasure room was always in the tourchlit fort at night. From 2008 we see a team Try and take on the Treasure room.Firstly the team need to get atleast 5 keys. which raised the gate to 5, 6-6 7 = full gate. They are allowed to exchange an unopened clue word for a key. For the first few episodes of 2008, they dicided to give the teams some extra time by starting the clock when the door started to open. and not when the host pulled the switch.
