| Unbeautiful 5 part 2Wed, 07 Jan 2009 17:11:27 -0800 by flutiecutie992ok part dos!enjoy peeps!*Hallye's POV*?Well when do you want to tell them then?? I asked gently. ?I think it should be sooner rather than later. If they find out some other way they will be furious we didn?t tell them,? he said. ?Yeah, I think so too,? I agreed. As if on cue, we heard Joe scream, ?NICK, HALLYE? IT?S TIME TO EAAAAATT!? This was soon followed by ?Joseph Adam, when I said to tell them, I meant physically go get them, not scream through the house! I could?ve done that,? Denise scolded him. ?Well then why did you tell me to do it?? was Joe?s reply. Nick and I both rolled our eyes and laughed, before he grabbed my hand and pulled me to my feet. He then did something I wasn?t expecting, by putting a hand around my waist and around the back of my legs, and pulling me into his arms bridal style. I shrieked before saying, ?Nick, what on earth are you doing?? His reply was simple while he started walking, ?I?m carrying you downstairs.? I rolled my eyes before saying, ?Yeah I kind of figured that one out, but my question is WHY?? ?I don?t want you to trip and hurt yourself and the baby. You?re not the most coordinated person you know,? he replied simply again, smiling. I smacked him on the shoulder before demanding, ?Nicholas Jerry Jonas, put me down now if you know what?s good for you. I can walk down the stairs to your kitchen myself perfectly fine.? We were already halfway down the stairs at this point. ?Nope, I think I?m just going to carry you babe,? he replied, smirking. ?Ugh, fine,? I caved while putting an arm around his neck so I wouldn?t fall. He did have a point though. When we were just outside of the kitchen he set me gingerly on my feet and grabbed my hand, interlacing our fingers, while we both entered the kitchen. A split second later I was being embraced into a huge hug by Frankie while he said, ?Oh my gosh Hallye! I missed you so much.? I laughed and said, ?I missed you too, Frank.? He was only 12 years old, yet he was almost as tall as me. I still remember the first day we met, on the plane, when he was only 7. The same day Nick and I were reunited. I smiled at the memory, but was snapped to reality when I heard Nick say, ?Frankie. Please do me a favor and be careful?? I rolled my eyes as Frankie looked to Nick, genuinely confused. I could already tell that Nick was going to be one of those way-too-overprotecti ve fathers. I turned to Nick shooting him a glare before saying, ?Nick he?s fine, I?m fine.? I walked over to him and whispered into his ear, ?Nick please don?t blow our cover! We will tell them in a few minutes, but until then keep your mouth shut! Thanks for caring though sweetie. I love you.? I pecked him on the lips and felt him smile. ?Sorry? I love you too,? he said softly. I flashed him a smile before we walked to the huge table and sat in our respective places. The seating chart was: Mr. and Mrs. Jonas at the heads of the table. Then Kevin, his wife, and Frankie on one side and Nick, me, and Joe on the other. We all joined hands as Mr. Jonas said blessing. After he had finished and we all said ?Amen,? Nick glanced over at me. I softly nodded once, and grabbed his hand, squeezing it tightly. He rubbed his thumb over the back of it, comforting me. Nick then took a deep breath and said, ?Mom, Dad, everyone? Hallye and I have some news.? All activity at the table stopped as Mr. and Mrs. Jonas shared a glance before turning to Nick and I expectantly. ?Well go on honey, what is it?? Ms. Denise asked. Nick took another deep, shaky breath as my heart starting pounding. He started stuttering, ?Well, Mom? Dad, Hallye is? I?m going to be?? but I interrupted him by blurting out, ?I?m pregnant!? ?With Nick?s child,? I whispered meekly while looking down at the table. All I heard was an astonished gasp and the clank of silverware as it was dropped and hit the kitchen floor below. | Griffith Park Helicopter Crash Lawyers VideoWed, 07 Jan 2009 16:35:25 -0800 by baumhedlundHelicopter Shot Peening ProcessGriffith Park Helicopter Crash Trial AnimationThe Bell 205A-1 tail rotor yoke is heat treated, forged 15-5 PH (precipitation hardened) stainless steel with an ultimate tensile strength of 170-200 KSI. The yoke has cross-sections of reduced thickness to allow for flexure, and cadmium plating for corrosion resistance. After the yoke in this case was machined, it underwent a process called "shot peening." This animation depicts the shot peening process - tiny beads are blasted onto the yoke. This process induces residual compressive stresses that impart greater fatigue strength to the yoke. One of the issues in the case was whether this Bell 205A-1 tail rotor yoke had been subjected to shot peening that did not conform to Bell Helicopter Process Specification (BPS) 4409. Inadequate shot peening reduces the residual compressive stress and fatigue strength of the yoke. Baum Hedlund had this animation prepared as one of several to be shown as evidence during the 2006 product liability trial at Los Angeles Superior Court against Bell Helicopter Textron, Inc., and Bell Technical Services, Inc. The trial was conducted by lead trial counsel Ronald L. M. Goldman and J. Clark Aristei of Baum, Hedlund, Aristei & Goldman.History: A Bell Model 205A-1 helicopter, owned and operated by the LAFD crashed in Griffith Park during an airlift rescue operation in Los Angeles on March 23, 1998. The helicopter was airlifting an injured child from a car accident when the helicopter's tail rotor yoke failed and caused the aircraft to crash, destroying the helicopter and killing the child, two LAFD paramedics and an LAFD helicopter apparatus operator. | Elvis Presley - Shake Rattle and RollWed, 07 Jan 2009 16:35:13 -0800 by JBauder1948Elvis Aaron Presley, in the humblest of circumstances, was born to Vernon and Gladys Presley in a two-room house in Tupelo, Mississippi on January 8, 1935. His twin brother, Jessie Garon, was stillborn, leaving Elvis to grow up as an only child. He and his parents moved to Memphis, Tennessee in 1948, and Elvis graduated from Humes High School there in 1953. Elvis musical influences were the pop and country music of the time, the gospel music he heard in church and at the all-night gospel sings he frequently attended, and the black R&B he absorbed on historic Beale Street as a Memphis teenager. In 1954, he began his singing career with the legendary Sun Records label in Memphis. In late 1955, his recording contract was sold to RCA Victor. By 1956, he was an international sensation. With a sound and style that uniquely combined his diverse musical influences and blurred and challenged the social and racial barriers of the time, he ushered in a whole new era of American music and popular culture. He starred in 33 successful films, made history with his television appearances and specials, and knew great acclaim through his many, often record-breaking, live concert performances on tour and in Las Vegas. Globally, he has sold over one billion records, more than any other artist. His American sales have earned him gold, platinum or multi-platinum awards for 150 different albums and singles, far more than any other artist. Among his many awards and accolades were 14 Grammy nominations (3 wins) from the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, which he received at age 36, and his being named One of the Ten Outstanding Young Men of the Nation for 1970 by the United States Jaycees. Without any of the special privileges his celebrity status might have afforded him, he honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. His talent, good looks, sensuality, charisma, and good humor endeared him to millions, as did the humility and human kindness he demonstrated throughout his life. Known the world over by his first name, he is regarded as one of the most important figures of twentieth century popular culture. Elvis died at his Memphis home, Graceland, on August 16, 1977. January 27, 1956 "Heartbreak Hotel" b/w "I Was the One" is shipped by RCA and sells over 300,000 copies in its first three weeks on the market. It is soon to go to number one on Billboards pop singles chart for eight weeks and hit number one on the country chart and number five on the R&B chart. It becomes the first Elvis single to sell over one million copies, thus earning Elvis his very first gold record award. Related: rock rockabilly | |

| Helicopter Crash Attorney's Cracking Animation VideoWed, 07 Jan 2009 16:20:33 -0800 by baumhedlundhttp://www.airplanec rash-lawyer.com/Prac ticeAreas/Helicopter -accidents.aspBell 205A-1 Helicopter Part Fails -Bell Helicopter's Cracked Yoke Leads to CrashThis animation depicts the forces being exerted on the tail rotor blades, which weaken the tail rotor yoke and resulted in a crack in the tail rotor yoke. If large enough, these forces may result in "static overload" damage, which creates a loss of compressive residual stress and a resulting fatigue fracture. Static overloads occur when the tail rotor is stationary, not when a helicopter is in flight. Static overload can be caused by improper ground handling (such as using the tail rotor blade as a handhold to move the helicopter), collision with a vehicle, improper bearing removal while the yoke is off the helicopter, and wind gust or jet blast. The resulting crack eventually propagates throughout the yoke, causing it to separate and fail in flight. Baum Hedlund had this animation prepared as one of several to be shown as evidence during their 2006 product liability trial at Los Angeles Superior Court against Bell Helicopter Textron, Inc., and Bell Technical Services, Inc.
