When we first started our Journalism class this semester, Garner was looking through CDs for something we could use in our intro-commercials. The only thing he really had on him at the time was a Red Hot Chili Peppers CD.Maybe the song doesn't do the content much justice, but it's something that popped into my head while the student appraisal guys were yapping away turning the conference room into a sob-fest and someone mentioned how she looooved California...but come to think, the depressing Sarah McLaughlan jingle on the MySpace tribute does even less justice to her sunny disposition.Willing to try on some different songs if anyone wants to cough up some suggestions. For those who don't know, this woman is (I refuse to say "was", shush) a dedicated, FREAKING AWESOME teacher. She is bright, inspirational, caring, loving... even if you just talked to her once, I think it's impossible to not love her for everything that she is. And you know the teach is cool when she comes to school as Trinity from the Matrix on Halloween...To be told of her passing was like a bad joke that none of us could believe ... until, of course, she and Garner both didn't come to school today and we were having our rescheduling options explained to us.Went to the funeral, saw the shell in the coffin and saw the men hoist it into a mausoleum... and still couldn't believe she's gone...But heroes never really die, right?Maybe the references in the song only make sense to me, but I guess that's okay, too.
