| West Lake Fire 01/06/09Thu, 08 Jan 2009 00:26:42 -0800 by mfullererieOn January 6th, 2009 at just after 0900, crews from West Lake Fire Department, assisted by West Ridge, Lake Shore, Kearsarge, the Erie International Airport Fire/Rescue team and the Millcreek Response Team, were dispatched to 4258 West Lake Road in Millcreek Township.Chief 931 arrived on scene and reported smoke and fire showing. West Lake Engine 482 was first engine on scene. Crews tried to make an initial attack in the front of the residence, but were quickly pulled out by Chief 481 due to fire conditions. It took crews over two and a half hours to get the fire under control.Crews were called back to the residence in the early morning hours of January 7th for a re-kindle. Crews spent approximately two hours on the scene to put out hot spots.The cause of the fire is still unknown and is being investigated by the Millcreek Township fire inspector.
